PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
Ipecac Syrup for emergency use to cause vomiting of swallowed poisons.
INGREDIENTS:Ipecac Contains
Active Ingredients:Ipecac F.E.
Inactive Ingredients:Glycerin, Sodium Benzoate,Sucrose, Purified Water.
Drug Interaction Precautions:
Activated charcoal will adsorb Ipecac Syrup.Do not give activated charcoal until after the patient has vomited, unless directed by a health professional.
SUGGESTED USE:
1 tablespoonful (15 mL) followed by 1 to 2 glasses of water (8 to 16 ounces) of water, or as directed by health professional.
If vomiting does not occurs within 30 minutes, repeat the dose. If previous attempts to contact a Poison Control Center, emergency medical facility, or health professional were unsuccessful, continue trying.
Keep patient active and moving. Save the container of poison.
Keep tightly closed at controlled room temperature 15-30? C . (59-86?F)
CAUTION:
Do not use if imprinted protective seal under the cap is broken or missing.
Keep out of reach of children. Do not use in unconscious persons. Ordinarily this drug should not be used if strychnine, corrosives suck as alkalies (lye) and strong acids, or petroleum distillates such as kerosene, gasoline, coal oil, fuel oil, paint thinner, or cleaning fluid have been ingested. Do not administer milk with this product.
