2 out of 5 stars like a jet engine   December 4, 2008
unfortunately, just too noisy. it's barely tolerable on low, then just for short periods. on high it's like a jet engine.
[there's no whine, though, as another reviewer noted - just white noise. if it is whining, there's something wrong.)
it's a nice compact design that seems to work well, if you have some out of the way room or place to use it where the noise isn't an issue!

4 out of 5 stars Would buy it again   September 8, 2008
I bought this to reduce the odor and freshen the air in my open-air cubicle. A co-worker wears very strong perfumed products and this purchase was an attempt to mitigate the smell without disturbing them. Despite being listed as best for closed rooms, it reduces the dust in my immediate work space, and the air coming out has very little perfume odor. However, the air coming out does smell like plastic offgassing, and it doesn't do enough to keep the air really clear of odor. That said, I think it does a terrific job for what I need it to do (reduce dust and odors in my immediate area) and would happily buy another one or recommend it to anyone with similar needs.

3 out of 5 stars Eh...it works but has its issues   April 7, 2008
This air purifier does a good job on improving the air quality, but it's a little loud and the filter is not washable.

4 out of 5 stars it's a little loud, but does the job.   November 1, 2007

People in reception room are not sneezing, but it is a little louder than I would have liked.

THIS PRODUCT DIDNT "WOW" ME SO TO SAY, IT TOOK A LONG TIME TO TELL A DIFFERENCE IN THE AIR QUALITY AND THE HIGH SETTING IS QUITE LOUD. I ALSO PURCHASED A BLUEAIR PURIFIER AND THAT ONE IS WONDERFULL. QUIET AND YOU CAN TELL IT REALLY WORKS WITH 5 ROOM CHANGES AN HOUR.
