1 out of 5 stars Save your money   September 1, 2008

Should have tossed it in the garbage instead of the garage .. better yet, should have returned it. If you are hurting and need a massager, look beyond this thing. Seems like a good idea, but this dumb thing flops around like a fish out of water and you can't apply pressure anywhere, let alone where you need it. Keep looking, save your money.

2 out of 5 stars with some changes could be a lot better   July 7, 2008
This massager had some good features but I returned it mainly because of the automatic programs on the massager. Just when the massager would feel like it was doing it's job, the program would go on to another mode. Very jumpy. A good point is there are many choices of sensations that are not automatic programs, but for me, most of them felt like "almost but not quite". I think the housing of the unit would not last very long; it felt a bit flimsy. So with some sturdier construction and some control of the sensations of the automatic program; this could be a great massager. I had a massager for over ten years I recently threw away because the cord was coming loose. If I knew I couldn't buy a replacement, I would have had the cord repaired.

1 out of 5 stars Not for Me   May 19, 2008

This product is nothing like my trusty Panasonic Easy-Reach which developed a switch problem after years of use. The new model has an awkward shape, the programmed settings deliver only a superficial massage, and pressing harder leads to lesser rather than more penetration. There was only one setting that did not do that but the selection switch in the handle allowed for too-easy accidental switching of programs during use and the necessity of starting all over again to find the one I wanted. The housing also felt shoddy--like it might not last long. A real disappointment.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent Massager for Lymph Flow, Detoxification and Lung Support   December 20, 2007

This is an excellent massager, with many benefits if used consistently. Initially, I didn't like this massager compared to the original Panasonic Easy Reach massager I had. When that faithful, and great working massager broke last year (after using it for nearly 7 years), I was dismayed to find it had been replaced with this one, which is very different in design from the original. But I bought this one anyway, and decided to give it a try. After trying to use it like the old one a few times, I was very disappointed. It was nothing like it, and much heavier, and harder to move around easily.

But then, after setting this massager aside, and trying another new massager for a bit (and being disappointed), I decided to give this Panasonic one more try. I also decided to use the first massage setting at the initial slow speed, and to move, or hold it in one small circular area for one full cycle before moving it to another area. I did this when I was suffering from severe bronchitis, and it helped to encourage my body to cough out the mucus in my lungs every day. As a result, I felt much better after a couple of weeks of daily massaging. In addition, it stimulates my sluggish lymphatic flow under my arms, and in my chest, encouraging drainage. This has helped to alleviate the bad swelling in my upper torso and joints, and greatly decrease the edema in my legs. In addition, one full body massage can put me into a deep state of relaxation so that I can sleep much better. As a result, with regular massages, I am beginning to look, and feel much better as my body gets detoxified, and I get more healing sleep!

There is a definite trick to using this massager effectively, however, and this is how I do it: I use the massager quite effectively by propping myself up on some pillows while lying down, then massaging one half of the back side of my body from neck to feet, and then going upward from feet to neck on the front of my body, especially concentrating on my sides and lower belly. After this, I turn over, and do the other side the same way. I also lay on my back, and put my ankles on my knees to get at my feet and lower body easier. When giving myself a long massage, though, I occasionally take breaks to allow the massager to cool off. This is because it tends to get very hot with long use, and to shut off on its own from this, and I don't want to ruin the unit. When I give myself massages, I might decide to use either the full series of strokes, or have learned how to use this a bit like my old Easy Reach massager by setting it to do just one rapid stroke, and then speeding it up even more with the double time button.

Overall, this is a great massager. Yes, as other reviewers have mentioned, this massager is noisy, but I compensate for this by usually wearing a headset, and playing my favorite relaxing and uplifting music while pounding gently away at my ever-grateful body. It really does work well if given a chance, and after learning how too truly relax while using it to get the most benefit from it. I highly recommend it.

5 out of 5 stars Great massager I have ever seen !!   November 25, 2007

I wanted a massager for a very long time and finally I made a decision to order one from amazon because it is absolutely hassle and worry free site for me to shop at. I found myself to be really liking the massager except for it's little noisiness and a bit heavy weight. But it's not a big deal for me. I love all the 7 massage options I have never seen in all other massagers. I normally spend most of my time sitting infront of computer all day long at work so it turned out to be really useful for me to help healing my stiffness on my neck and back. I would recommand this product.
