Dehumidifier Benefits
The high capacity dehumidifier has been designed to absorb moisture from small enclosed areas. It will help protect clothes and valuables from the damaging effects of mold / mildew and moisture rot. It is 100% renewable and needs no power to operate. Just hang the eva-dry unit in a closet, or you can place it in other small enclosed spaces, and it will start absorbing moisture immediately. There are no batteries required or cords to plug in, the unit works without power.

There is an indicator window with special "moisture meter crystals" that change from blue (when dry) to pink (when wet) to indicate when the unit needs to be "renewed". The unit will absorb approximately 8-10 ounces of moisture (depending on humidity levels this should take approximately 4-8 weeks). Once the moisture has been adsorbed it cannot leak or spill. This unit uses a specialized engineered crystallized silica gel that is odorless, non-toxic and completely safe. When the indicator crystals turn pink it is time to "re-new" the unit. Simply remove the unit from where it is absorbing moisture and plug it into a power outlet in a well ventilated area (bathroom with extraction fan, garage, outside, etc.) There is a built in heater that will warm the crystals allowing them to expand and release the moisture as water vapor into the outside air. It takes about 12-14 hours to completely re-new the unit. When it is completely renewed the indicator crystals will change back to blue. The unit is brand new again and ready to absorb another 8-10 ounces of moisture. I consider this an investment in saving what I have from humidity. It works great and is better than I expected. Does it's job, people should work as well as this item.

It's not a very exciting product, but it works as advertised. It has dried out the cabinet we bought it for and only needs recharging about once every month and a half.

My rating is because I'm not sure how to use this. I believe I am following instructions by just leaving it in my space and waiting for the teeny tiny indicator window to turn colors. But I haven't seen any color changes yet. Am I supposed to be turning it a certain way? Right now it is sitting upright on a table in a small room. I've moved it from one place to another in the room and the little window is still gray. Waiting for a big 'user error' sign to appear!

This renewable dehumidifier got rid of the dampness and terrible musty odor coming from my basement staircase, into my kitchen, in less than an hour!! The fact that it does not need to be plugged in, in order to dehumidify an area is quite helpful, if the damp area is not near an electrical outlet. You need not empty water from the humidifier, potentially spilling it. I am so impressed with this little dehumidifier that I just purchased two more to put in my basement. Keep in mind that this dehumidifier is not for dehumidifying very large areas. If you have larger areas, that are not enclosed, you will probably need more than one of these.

I purchased three of these little dehumidifiers to try to control the dampness in my basement. They are amazing little powerhouses, and I highly recommend them. I simply place a unit in an inconspicuous place in the corner of the room and leave it alone. When the crystals turn light pink (which is very obvious and usually takes about 3 weeks), I plug it into the outlet overnight to recharge. The unit is a tiny bit larger than I originally envisioned, but that works well because it can absorb more water. I experimented with the outlets in my home until I found one that supports the weight of the unit perfectly during recharging. It gets warm while recharging, but not so hot that it burns (or even feels close to burning). It doesn't have any sort of chemical smell at all, and has been easy to incorporate into my life. The unit seemed too large to hang, so I placed it on the floor (and on the shelf in one room). That hasn't been a problem because I don't even notice they are there. I would highly recommend this product for anyone with dampness issues in their home. Buy one for each closet or room that has dampness and check them after one week to start, then weekly, to easily ascertain how often you'll need to recharge.
