Product Description
Dry & Store is a conditioning system for all types of hearing instruments - traditional hearing aids as well as cochlear implant equipment, noise maskers, ear monitors, and more. Best results are achieved with in-home use every night. While you sleep, it removes moisture, dries earwax, kills germs, and deodorizes your hearing instruments. If you have ever experienced fuzzy or distorted sound, weakness, static, intermittency, short battery life, or even all-out failure of your hearing aids, and you've confirmed that the batteries are good, there's a good chance that the culprit is either moisture or earwax. In fact, manufacturers report that as many as one-half of the aids they receive for repair are malfunctioning due to moisture or earwax. Thanks to Dry & Store, you can save yourself the time, expense, and aggravation of those preventable repairs. "Prior to my using the Dry & Store, my ear canal aids were constantly in the shop and I regretted having bought them. They now serve me very well. Your product saved a very expensive investment for me." ~ H.G., Evanston, IL"My hearing aids have always had unexplained volume fluctuations and occasionally temporarily fail. Since using Dry & Store I have never had another poor volume day or temporary failure. . . They have never worked more consistently than they do now." ~ S.W., Americus GA "The Dry & Store also helps my hearing aids have better sound quality. In other words, the sounds coming in are more clear and the hearing aids seem much more powerful." ~ A.K., Kentucky The bottom line: For peak performance every day, use Dry & Store every night. With hundreds of thousands of units in use, Dry & Store carries an extraordinary 98% consumer satisfaction rating.

The Dry and Store disinfects and dehumidifies your hearing aids, which will make them last longer and work better.

Disinfection is accomplished by the UV light in the lid, which runs for a few minutes after you press the button to start the cycle. Then for the next 8 hours, a small fan circulates air past the hearing aids and the Dry-Brik. The Dry-Brik is an important part of the process - it contains a dessicant which sucks moisture out of that circulating air.

At the end of the cycle, your hearing aids are disinfected and dry throughout. Wax buildups will flake off effortlessly. And your hearing aids will smell fresh.

You have to replace the Dry-Brik every two months. Optionally you can order a small tin of dessicant beads which you can recharge by baking in the oven.

All in all, the Dry and Store is a well built device. I am happy with all aspects of it save one: the lid. Because the lid houses a lightbulb and reflector, it's almost as heavy as the rest of the box. Which wouldn't be an issue, except that the hinge only allows the lid to move through a 90 degree arc - it stops when it is vertical. The problem is that the box will not stay open unless you are holding the lid with one hand. It would have been nice to open the lid, remove hearing aids, place in box, close lid. But since the lid must be held open, and removing the aids is a two handed operation, that would require three hands. I only have two, drat the luck!

Also, the 'Global' model is designed to travel with you. So, it would be nice if the wall-wart would fit inside the unit during travel. But it doesn't. Oh, well.

These are minor nitpicks to be sure, and I wouldn't mention them at all if they couldn't so easily have been fixed during the design phase!

Even with this caveat, your hearing aids probably cost you thousands of dollars. The Dry and Store is the best way of keeping them in tip-top shape (and yes, I have tried other, equivalent products). I recommend it.
