Product Description Ohropax ear plugs are made from a soft wax compound coverd with cotton. They provide a comfortable fit into the ear canal while creating an efficient seal against noise or water entry. Ideal for sleep, study, travel or noisy workplaces. Swimmers and bathers can keep water out of their ears.

Filters enough, but not everything. September 17, 2008 These filter out most noises, but I am still able to hear my alarm clock. I assume I would be able to hear the smoke detector as well. These work much better than foam ear plugs, and stay in the ear. The only down-side is: I am not sure about the long-term effects of using these in ears.
wax ear plugs September 15, 2008 These are by far the most comfortable ear plugs I have found. Much better than silicon and even better than foam. I find the other types very uncomfortable. They have also become difficult to find in drugstores and can only be purchased on line. I'm very happy with them.
best ear plugs! August 10, 2008 I have tried many ear plugs before. These block out noises like no other I've ever used. I bought mine in Germany and was prepared to purchase them and pay international shipping to get them...until I found them here! What a relief to find them domestically!
best around April 20, 2008 These are the only earplugs in my experience that can really shut out loud noises. Because they are wax they can be molded to the ear perfectly and sealed so that almost all noise is shut out.
Doesn't really work May 25, 2007 2 out of 4 found this comment useful.
I have found that wax and silicone earplugs do not really work. The earplug will create a perfect seal, blocking out all noise; unfortunately, this creates an unbearable air pocket between the earplug and the eardrum. If you break the seal, the sound gets in...
