 BEST BASAL THERMOMETER EVER! October 30, 2007
If you've ever used anything else, you know the BD thermometer is the best. The only thing I changed on mine is I put a small square of duct tape on the speaker so it wasn't as loud.

I've been charting for over 3 years and this little baby does it all! The memory recall is great, as is the lighted display. My husband is a very light sleeper and he says the beeping doesn't bother him at all. This will be a keeper until the day I stop charting.

This thermometer is awesome! It beeps every 4 seconds to let you know it's working correctly and then has a faster beep when it's done, it has a lighted display once you push the button after it's done taking your temp., so that you can read it and if you happen to forget your last temp., you can push it on and it'll display it. I bought this thermometer to replace the one I'd been using (Vicks brand BBT) because the one I had did not light up, so seeing the temperature in the dark morning was difficult. I thought the BD thermometer would be great - lighted display, beeps to tell you that it's working, and saves your temperature. I did not realize that it only reads to one tenth of a degree - the one I'd been using read to the hundreth, which is useful for my fertility charting.
Also, the thermometer just did not seem consistent. To test it, I sat very still and took my temperature a few times in a row. Each time, the thermometer displayed very different temperatures ranging more than a full degree. Maybe this thermometer would be adequate as a fever thermometer, but for a basal thermometer it is not useful at all to me. I am back to using my Vicks BBT.

This is really easy to use and I like the fact that it saves your last temp. One reviewer said that it's too hard to erase the old temp, but once you turn it on it shows your old temp for maybe 3 seconds and then is ready to temp again. The beeping is hardly noticeable and the little light is super convenient at 5am.
