Product Description Stinger's BugOff! wristbands are revolutionary products to keep insects away so you can enjoy being outdoors. These items are designed using essential oils of citronella, geraniol and lemongrass (proven repellents for mosquitoes and other flying insects). BugOff! bands are DEET-free (that's the chemical in bug sprays that can be harmful if not used properly), non-toxic, safe, fun to use and very cost effective. How does it work? BugOff! wristbands are infused with safe and effective insect repelling oils naturally found in plants. The scent helps repels bugs before they land, for up to 180 hours, and unlike sprays or lotions, there is nothing to apply.

Worst product ever! (Still even a year later) September 3, 2007 0 out of 1 found this comment useful.
I left a review September of 2007. I tried the new bands they came out with yesterday, June 2008.
I was still attacked by skeeters even though I put on on each wrist and one ankle. The one leg that didn't have one on was the only part of my body NOT attacked.
So a year later, they STILL don't work. (This is in Northern Michigan where, believe it or not, the skeeters aren't as bad as in other places closer to woodsy or swampy areas.)
GREAT ITEM September 26, 2005 2 out of 2 found this comment useful.
I was doubtful that this item would really work especially because it did not cost much, but decided to give it a try. It was fabulous. Simple to use. No need to reapply like a spray. I went to Kenya and Tanzania in Africa and glad to report this item was priceless. I got four bites when not having this wristband on and none with it on. Sometimes I put it over my sock at my ankle and sometimes on my wrist. I just love this item.
Wristband efficacy POOR April 21, 2005 7 out of 12 found this comment useful.
I considered buying this product due to the warning about DEET, but then I did some research and found that DEET is not as toxic as it is made out to be. According to the New England Journal of Medicine, Wristbands were the worst possible way to prevent mosquito bites. Avergage time to bite was less than 1 minute. OFF Deep Woods protected for an average of 300 minutes, or 5 hours. I reccomend that you take your healt more seriously, use a DEET based spray and just remember to wash it off when you are through.

This is a product I feel good about using. Instead of using a chemical like DEET (known to have side effects), this product uses essential oils. (It's always great when a company takes the initiative to make a product friendly to both humans and the environment!) Furthermore, as an avid gardener, I had numerous opportunities to experiment with this product,. It worked like a wonder. I strongly endorse this wristband for anyone who enjoys spending time outdoors. A truly fine product.

I really wanted to love this product. I hate spraying myself with insect repellent, so a simple bracelet was a great solution. I really wanted to love the Bug Off! Wrist Band, but I didn't. I wore it outside for several evening walks and bugs didn't bother me, so it may be quite effective. But the very strong citronella odor was very annoying. If you don't mind walking around smelling like a citronella candle, then this might be for you. I think I'll wait until they come out with the odorless version.
