Product Description
Saunders Posture S'port Support Helps align the entire spine and prevents stooped shoulders to maintain good posture. The comfortable Posture S'port anchors around the waist with an adjustable, elastic waistband that ensures a custom fit. The suspender-style elastic straps criss-cross over the back to gently pull the shoulders, spine and lower back into a more erect position, decreasing back and shoulder pain. The elastic under-arm straps are covered with soft, cotton fabric to prevent pinching or binding. Can be worn over or under clothing. Keep your back in good health by maintaining good posture with Saunders S'port Posture Support! Med: Waist 30" - 42"

2 out of 5 stars No Support   August 25, 2008
Alas, I found this brace to be quite useless. I was hoping to find something to help me correct my posture and slouch. I'm not looking for a miracle - I'd be happy with simply some mild discomfort when I let my posture slip, just to remind me to do better.

I'm thin but also on the tall side - 6'1", so perhaps the sizing information was faulty and had me purchase the wrong product. But if that's the case, I can't imagine what the correct product is.

The shoulder straps meant to hold back your shoulders were completely ineffective - they did absolutely nothing to help pull my shoulders back, not even a mild tug. And this is because the shoulder straps depend on the waist strap keeping itself in place, which it does not.

Instead, all that happens is the back of the waist strap (where the shoulder straps meet the waist strap) is forced to ride up - it's just not possible to secure it in place, no matter how tightly I cinch it up. And as it can't stay in place, it can't provide any pull - rendering the entire affair utterly useless in either straightening a back or pulling back shoulders.

Again, perhaps it's the fault of my frame - I'm tall and trim. But for the life of me, I can't see how this could work for anyone - there's *nothing* to keep the waist band from sliding up!

Does what it is supposed to. Hard to wear all day. The straps dig into your arms after a few hours. But I still found it helpful. Also I'm pretty broad sholdered and also muscular. For a smaller person I don't expect they would have the same problem.

Useful product, definitely feel it promoting better upper back posture with the shoulder straps. However, the sizing is indeed wrong. I would base the sizing on your height instead of waist size. I am 6'1", but I ordered the medium (30"-42" waist) since my waist size is 31"-32". However this size feels like it was designed for people 5'7" or shorter. The "waist" band actually reaches across my lower diaphragm and can make breathing uncomfortable, but hey, maybe I can use that to train my diaphragm muscles.

If you are 5'7" or shorter, I would recommend the medium size.
If you are 5'8" or taller, the large size is definitely in order, no matter your waist.

The product seems well constructed, and the shoulder straps are comfortable and do their job, but the lumbar belt contributes to the mis-sizing of this product, which negatively impacts the practicality of this support. Good idea, though.
