IC/PBS is a chronic inflammation of the bladder that occurs more in women, but also affects men. This natural oral dietary supplement comes in a soft gel capsule form. Cystoprotek is made with anti-inflammatory properties glucosamine, quercetin and rutin to help reduce bladder damage and pain, and glucosamine sulfate, chondroitin sulfate and hyaluronate sodium help replenish the damaged glycosaminoglycan (GAG) protective layer in the bladder. Chondroitin sulfate is one of the main components of cartilage and muscosa layers, forming the connecive tissue that holds muscles, nerves, and blood vessels together. Sodium hyaluronate is another component of protective tissue, including the GAG layer of the bladder, and is essential in the rebuilding process. Extracted from the saphora plant, rutin is a non-acidic natural flavonoid that adds additional anti-inflammatory qualities and liberated quercetin in the intestine, making absorption easier. CystoProtek is not a cure for IC. At this time, there is no known cure for the condition. Additionally, it is important to understand that CystoProtek is not an analgesic. It may take three to four months to offer a relief of symptoms. In clinical study Cystoprotek was well tolerated by patients ingesting 4-6 softgel capsules per day for 4-6 months.

I almost can't believe it's true, but it has to be! I know they say it won't start working for about a month but I do declare it started working almost immediately. I started with the suggested dose but have been able to take only one a day for the past week or so. I'm still having trouble urinating sometimes but it's so much better than it was and the PAIN IS GONE~!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I've been using it for years and have managed to stay off all the IC meds. I do feel it if I miss a couple doses though!

Have had IC for 3+ years now. Did bladder infusions and elmiron for 18 months+. Found Cystoprotek - what a difference!! Now I take nothing else at all, and the awful urethral pain and belly tenderness is completely gone. Have been on Cystoprotek for over a year now, absolutely zero side effects for me. This stuff is awesome.

I have had IC for 4 years, and have been taking this product for 4 months. I initially noticed a slight mitigation in IC symptoms that lasted a few hours after taking two Cystoprotek pills, and also noticed GI effects if I took too much of the medication. My body has a resistance to the GI effects now, and I can safely take 10 or 12 pills per day (staggered throughout the day). My IC symptoms have gotten much better, although I am unsure whether the CystoProtek or Elmiron has helped me more (been taking both for the same time period). I recommend that any patient with IC-like symptoms give this a trY and experiment to determine how much you can handle.
