Product Description The Tarascon Pocket Pharmacopoeia continues to be the most popular and most trusted portable drug dosing reference available! Newly updated for 2005, the Tarascon Pocket Pharmacopoeia continues the high-quality tradition of a convenient, organized, and concise pocket manual packed with vital drug information meticulously peer-reviewed by experts and clinicians of multiple specialties. It details typical drug dosing (both FDA approved and off-label uses), available trade and generic formulations, metabolism, safety in pregnancy and lactation, relative drug pricing information, Canadian trade names, and an Herbal & Alternative Therapies section. pharmacopoeia July 21, 2007 I love this handy pharmacopoeia. It is a great reference and it has dosages for infants which is why I bought it.

I've used these books since medical school and still go back to it when I can't find what I need on my palm pilot. It sorts drugs alphabetically and by class and even gives a relative cost estimate. It has an index and also other little tidbits, like algorithms for ACLS, conversion charts, and skin dermatomes. There is nothing that you will ever buy that will give you the same value. It is available in two sizes; I prefer the pocket sized, and I usually get one for the office and leave one in my clinical jacket. It also lists some drugs that are no longer popular, but still necessary at times, such as IV vasotec dosing.
All you ever need November 20, 2005 1 out of 1 found this comment useful.
I've used this pocket drug guide as a surgical resident for 5 years in an extremely tough residency program where you never had time to sit down and consult a bigger text or your palm pilot. Let me assure you this is all you'll ever need to get you through the drug management of you patients. Now I'm using it in private practice everyday. The best!!!!

A must have for all of us who are out of the academic loop and can't remember all of the doseages and schedules. Well organized and easy to use. Great for the price.
