The book took about 5 days to arrive from California-standard shipping.
So, that's okay depending on how soon you need the book.

3 out of 5 stars Good book, no software   September 18, 2008

The only reason I gave this book 3 stars and not 5 is because I bought this book for my Nutrition course but it didn't not have the Diet Analysis software that I need for a class project. I returned it and purchased the package our campus bookstore offered.

Other than not having the software, it's actually a really good book. Each section has a key point at the end which summarizes what you've read; convenient for studying. Each chapter concludes with a Controversy section which goes into current controversies and scientific topics. If you take advantage of the companion website for this book you'll also find Chapter Summaries, Outlines, Glossary and Selft-Test sections.

My professor assigned this text for my first ever online course. I was worried that with out the lectures that I would have a hard time understanding the material and properly completing my assignments. I found this text easy to understand and very informative. I really enjoy the controverisies at the end of the chapters. It gives you a relatable aspect of what you just read.
