1 out of 5 stars Maternal Child Nursing Care   December 2, 2008
This book is the pits. There are no end of chapter questions for review, there is no glossary and way too much fluff. The book is twice as big as it needs to be and a lot of redundant information. Unfortunately this book was a required text for class.

3 out of 5 stars OK book, but excessive information   April 3, 2008
3 out of 3 found this comment useful.

This study guide was on our 'recommended' book list for our OB/Peds semester of nursing school to accompany the required textbook, so I bought it. Although it's very thorough, the overwhelming amount of information has made it minimally helpful in my studying. My class doesn't follow the book, and instead the instructors assign us pages to read based on the subject of the lecture... so for any given lecture, we may be reading parts of several chapters. Many of the exercises are fill in the blank sentences of key terms, matching definitions and open answer explanations. The one helpful feature I've found is the five or so N-CLEX style question at the end of each chapter.

Before buying this book, I would suggest reviewing your syllabus and seeing if your class goes into detail in each chapter, or if they skip around like mine. Still, it's relatively inexpensive and might be helpful to some.
