Amazon.com Review Sonicare's Advance 4100 (previously known as the PS-1) cleans with an ultrahigh-speed motion, leaving teeth feeling sparkling fresh. Extra-soft bristles let the user apply as much pressure as desired, making the Sonicare perfect for people with sensitive teeth, braces, and implants. While proven to be as or more effective than manual brushing for removing plaque and preventing gingivitis, the Sonicare Advance is also guaranteed to remove 80% of tobacco, tea, and coffee stains in just 28 days. The Smartimer function takes the guesswork out of how long to brush by automatically shutting off the brush after two minutes. The 4100 includes one standard-size brush head, a charger base, and a handle that holds its charge for up to two weeks, making it ideal for travel. A two-year warranty covers the handle and charger against defects. --Ann Bieri

Non-replaceable battery leaves a bad taste in my mouth August 29, 2008 I would like this much better if it weren't for the fact that it's so easy to replace bad batteries and use it for more years. It's not too hard to do, but they really want the money. Why don't they just add a self-destruct timer on it so that it just blows up after one year?
If Sonicare was less greedy, I'd appreciate them much more.
Sonicare Toothbrush August 25, 2008 I already owned a Sonicare 4100 and it has been a very reliable and effective tool. When traveling to my second home, I brought the toothbrush but forgot the charger so I decided to get a second one. The Amazon price was very good and shipping was free so I ordered. The new 4100 is exactly as good as my earlier 4100 except that I was unaware that it comes either with or without the feature to let you know when each 30 seconds of the 2 minute cycle is up. My old one has this feature, the new one does not. That was a minor disappointment as I thought I was buying exactly the same product.
Great upgrade August 11, 2008 I purchased this toothbrush a few months ago and am extremely pleased with my purchase. It took a week or two for me to get used to brushing with this new brush, but once I did its been great. My teeth feel like I just got back from the dentist when I finish brushing. Also, one charge lasts 2 week easily for this brush. I would highly recommend this brush for anyone in the market for new one.
Great Product August 8, 2008 System is a very fine system. I had the same product for about 6 years prior to this one.
Junk August 2, 2008 0 out of 1 found this comment useful.
The Philips sonicare advance series is a piece of junk. On my first purchase I noticed that the replacement heads never lasted the six months they are supposed to last, cracked in less than 3 months.
When the handle cracked (after about 18 months) I bought another. The new one, the handle cracked within 3 months, and lasted less than a year. the heads cracked and did not last even remotely close to the 6 months they are supposed to. I've tried this brush twice,I'm through wasting my money, I'm going to Oral B (Braun)
