Product Description Ultreo takes power brushing where it's never gone before. Invented in association with former scientists, engineers and the original developers of the Sonicare toothbrush, it is the first power toothbrush to combine patented ultrasound waveguide technology with precisely-tuned sonic bristle action.Independently tested for both safety and effectiveness, Ultreo has been proven to remove hard-to-reach plaque, improve gum health, and reduce stains for naturally whiter teeth. Ultreo's bristles create microbubbles that are powerfully activated by nearly 4 million cycles of ultrasound energy per brushing, channeled by a proprietary ultrasound waveguide. The result is an incredible, long-lasting feeling of clean. In a recent study, 8 out of 10 people who used Ultreo for 30 days said they would switch to Ultreo from their current power toothbrush. And of those who expressed a preference, 8 out of 10 thought the overall cleaning provided by Ultreo was better than that of the power toothbrush they normally use.Ultreo comes with: * Ultreo Ultrasound Toothbrush with Ultrasound Brush Head * Ultra-Compact Charger Base * Detachable Universal Voltage Wall Plug * Ultrasound Waveguide Protector * Premium Travel Caddy * Ultreo Owner's Manual * 2-Year Warranty
Amazon.com Product Description How Ultreo Works Ultreo is the first power toothbrush to combine patented ultrasound waveguide technology with precisely tuned sonic bristle action. Ultreo’s bristles create microbubbles that are powerfully activated by nearly 4 million cycles of ultrasound energy per brushing channeled by a patented ultrasound waveguide. What to Expect The Ultreo brushing experience is unlike any other toothbrush. Here are some useful tips to help you become accustomed to the unique feel. We guarantee that after the initial adjustment period, your teeth will feel cleaner than ever before. - As ultrasound requires a fluid medium to perform effectively, try to keep as much fluid around the bristles as possible while you brush.
- Ultreo has been designed to work with a small “pea-sized” amount of toothpaste.
- Ultreo should be used with gentle pressure and a light touch.
- Keep the bristles, not the waveguide, in contact with the teeth and gumline while brushing.
- You may feel the waveguide touching your teeth at first. This is normal and most users report that the waveguide is not noticeable at all after the first few brushings.
Purchase an Ultreo ultrasound toothbrush and use it for 30 days. If your teeth don't feel cleaner than ever before, give us a call at 1.877.4.ULTREO and we'll refund your money. Better than the rest - and I've tried them all. November 9, 2008 I've been through Oral B and Sonicare. Both are good, but don't match the Ultreo. I agree with a previous reviewer that even the packaging (ala Apple) is an experience in quality.
I have "crowded" bottom teeth and, even after flossing, I always felt like I have food or something still hung up in there. With the Ultreo, I never have that feeling.
At first I was leery of this product. My dentist recommended it the last time I was in for a cleaning and I thought, "Yeah, she must be getting a pretty good cut....." But I went ahead and purchased one.
It's been three months now since my cleaning and my teeth still look and feel like they did when I left her office....whiter than ever and always with that "just polished" feel.
It's not cheap, but the replacement heads are not that expensive and, in the long run, I'm sure it will pay for itself in lower dental bills. I highly recommend!
Gave Ultreo A Chance, But It Doesn't Clean Well November 4, 2008 My dentist of the past ten years raved about Ultreo, so I thought I'd give it a try. I have bad gums and so I thought Ultreo would be better than Sonicare. Unfortunately, Ultreo is clumsy to use and I don't get the nice "clean" feeling I usually get with my Sonicare. The head is too big and the bristles don't seem to move fast enough. I charged it for over a week and the so-called "sonic" vibrations are still weak. The rubber in the middle is awkward and I'm confused on where it's supposed to touch. My dentist suggested I don't "brush" but just move the Ultreo over my teeth and gums. Unfortunately, this results in such a gentle motion that I still have food stuck between my teeth after brushing, something that wasn't true of Sonicare!! Thinking back to how my dentist pushed Ultreo at me, I realize now he made a commission on every sale, so he's not exactly a disinterested party in this. I wasted over $100 on this, and now it's back to Sonicare.
Finally, a battery toothbursh that seems to work as advertised October 27, 2008 I was skeptical about this claimed 'ultra-sound' brush, but after my first month of use I'm now an avid fan. I've not been to my dentist yet to confirm if any health improvements, but the claim that teeth feel super-clean is true! After each brushing, the teeth are smooth and slippery as if polished. And, I've noticed too that the high-frequency vibrating dislodges many tiny bits of food and snacks often hidden away between my back teeth.
So, yes I would say this device is a big-step improvement for tooth care.
BEST POWER TOOTHBRUSH on the market. PERIOD!!!! October 22, 2008 1 out of 1 found this comment useful.
I used Oral-B Vitality, Philips Sonicare FlexCare and finally Ultreo; and BELIEVE me this is undoubtedly the best solution out there. The brush does not physically wear and tear your enamel. It cleans almost 100% of plaque. Over two weeks of use, all my stains were gone and my mouth felt fresh as just after a dentist cleaning.
Ultreo: I read concerns about the big plastic head inside the brush head, in an Amazon.com review. I was very concerned in the beginning. The 1-877-4-ULTREO help desk clarified that this is the ultra-sound frequency generator that provides the cleaning action. The jutting plastic head contained in between the bristles is the heart of this equipment. The bristles do not provide scrubbing action, rather they only contain the fluid (paste and saliva) so the plastic head can bombard the plaque with the fluid mixture. The cleaning action from this technology does not cause any physical wear on the enamel and consequently, there is no reason for use of this product to cause any sensitivity over the long run. I would describe this as the invention of the decade and has the potential to literally kill your dentist's business.
Oral-B Vitality: After 2 years of continued usage, I realized that this product started to cause continued sensitivity in my teeth. This brush pushes all the plaque and tartar under the gum. The reach is very bad, impacting all molar teeth especially in the lower jaw. Overall, I would rate this product as a 1 out of possible 5. For price sensitive customer's, I would give it a 3 out of possible 5 rating. It does the job but YOU pay in the long term.
Philips Sonicare: The sonic action in the bristles is just a non-performer. The brush head is too small and ineffective. This brush also pushes the plaque and tartar under the gum. This brush doesn't help you get rid of any stains, even though the manufacturer claims this.
Less effective than Sonicare for me October 21, 2008 1 out of 1 found this comment useful.
I bought this appliance a month ago with high hopes.Unfortunately, I have now abandoned it in favor of my old toothbrush, a Sonicare. The Ultreo was simple to use and the battery lasted well on a 10 day vacation without its charger, but my cleaning results were unsatisfactory. Plaque built up on my teeth while using the Ultreo and the situation was getting worse, not better. It felt like I needed more "oomph" from the Ultreo in its brushing. Upon going back to the Sonicare, I was able to get things under control. I have no idea if I got any benefit from the ultrasonic stimulation of my gums. This is an attractive product with good potential. It just did not work well for me.
