I've tried "cheaper" pedometers in the past and have always been disappointed - they are usually inaccurate and flimsy. The Omron HJ-112 is the exact opposite. It is within 10% accurate and is very sturdy. I keep it in my pocket and have had no problems with scratches or other wear and tear. For just $10 or $15 dollars extra compared to the cheaper products, the Omron premium is definitely worth it!
One of my favorite features is the seven-day memory for all the statistics the pedometer tracks. I keep a spreadsheet of my walking data (nerdy, I know), and the memory feature is extremely handy for the days I forget to enter values.
I have since recommended this pedometer to several family members and friends, all of whom have also bought and enjoyed it. Highly recommended!

I use my Omron pedometer for my daily walk, which doesn't vary much from time to time, and it's easy to tell if I've walked faster or slower by the number of steps and "aerobic" steps it measures. I can store these in memory for comparison with other days. My only puzzle is that occasionally the distance, which I know to be the same, will register slightly differently from one day to the next. The pedometer is very sturdy, and can be placed in a pocket, or on a waistband. A good product.

this is a great item that allows you to review how manay steps you walked over the day. the attachment to your belt should be a little longer so that it does not continually fall off, but all in all it is a great product. I have increased my steps and losted 10 pounds since i received my pedometer.
