I have owned other pedometers and this is the best of the lot. I've even bought this as a present for a friend who also loves it.
* Not as oversensitive as other pedometers
I feel it does a great job of accurately counting steps
This is true for if it is in my pocket or clipped to a belt --
I personally feel that it is not as accurate if carried in a bag or purse
* Has a 7 day history (great to help keep track of step history)
* At mid-night automatically resets to 0 Steps
* Keeps track of "aerobic" steps
(steps sustained at a certain pace for 10 minutes or longer)
* Has a 'leash' so if the clip fails (which it will) it's still attached
* Battery life is excellent
There are cheaper pedometers but this is well worth the extra money.
There are web sites and services (some free of charge) that provide a service for helping you track your steps. If you would like a software program to monitor your steps I would recommend the Omron HJ-720ITC. This model is very similar to the HJ-112 but also includes software for tracking step as well as blood pressure.

I have lost 22 lbs. and a great encouragement had been my omron pedometer.
I purchased an off brand at Wal-Mart and it was tacky.
After research I took it back and ordered the omron, it is the best.
I put it on first thing in the morning and keep it on until I go to bed.
It hold me accountable and I have found it to be very accurate.
A physician friend of mine said omron makes blood pressure cuffs etc., so they are a reputable company.
Even the instructions were helpful, such as a minimum of 10,000 steps per day is ideal.
I have a heart problem and the Dr.said I should walk and lose weight.
Before the pedometer I walked 40 minutes on the treadmill which was about 2 miles.
Now with the omron I am up to 70 minutes and three miles on the treadmill and an additional 1 mile in the neighborhood which gives me 4 miles and the recommended 10,000 + steps.
By wearing it even to church on Sunday ( it appears to be a tiny cell phone ) and particularly when I go to the mall and Wal-Mart etc I will go some days nearly seven miles.
It is my great weight loss Cheer leader.
Thank God for it !!!

This is a great pedometer! I have checked it a million times and it is extremely accurate. I like the fact that it holds 7 days worth of data so I can compare my steps to other days. The clock feature is nice. It also counts your aerobic steps which is another great feature. Just being able to put it in my pocket or purse is so GREAT! Definitely purchase this one and use it!!!
UPDATE: I jumped in the pool last week and swam for 5 minutes before I realized I still had my pedometer on. I jumped out and it was blank and water was flowing from it. I was extremely upset as I have been wearing this little gadget for over 3 months now faithfully every day. I took it apart and turned my blow dryer on cool and dried it out. I left it apart until the morning and put it back together and it is WORKING! My mom also got one and we are having a contest to see how many steps we can get in a day. She lost 5# in 2 weeks just by using this pedometer.

I've had the Omron Pedometer now for about a month and I love it! The reviews here are on target. Love the fact that it shows regular steps, aerobic steps (and aerobic steps in minutes!), miles and kcal. The 7-day memory feature is great too. It's probably a bit pricey compared to other pedometers but you're getting so much more for your money. If you're avid walker, this is for you!

I love this! Now I know for sure accurate information, I love the way it keeps a whole week on memory and the calorie count at best! It's good quality! No need for fancier and more expensive ones! Buy this one!
