3 out of 5 stars Nice features but not accurate   July 1, 2007

Bought the product for features and portability. I was impressed on how it functioned. Took it to my doctors office and compared it with the doctors instrument twice. HEM-650 readings were lower by as much as 14 points. The doctor told me that wrist monitors were not as accurate as the cuff monitors.

I then bought the HEM-711 (cuff monitor) and compared it to the HEM-650. The HEM-711 readings were on average 7-10 points higher than the HEM-650.

Kept the HEM-711 and returned the HEM-650.

1 out of 5 stars Not up my expectations   June 28, 2007

The unit I received was very accurate when I could get it to take a reading. The automatic positioning system was a nightmare. Finding the sweet spot that it liked was almost impossible. My wife also had the same problem. Maybe I had a defective unit, but it went back to Amazon.

I was not sure of its accuracy, and checked it against the results of the blood pressure test done at my clinic. 100% match!
Very easy to use.
Highly endorse it.

5 out of 5 stars extremely accurate   June 12, 2007

There's always been alot of hype over the wrist blood pressure monitors not being as accurate as the arm models, but I had heard (from my doctor) that this particular model was the best. To check it out, I took it with me during my last dr.'s appt. and the reading I got versus the doctor's reading in the office only varied by TWO points.

I love this monitor, it's fast and easy to use. And now that I've verified how accurate it is for myself, it will be the blood pressure monitor I will recommend to everyone.

1 out of 5 stars Save your money   June 12, 2007

Unacceptable performance, we returned it for a refund. This product is EXTREMELY sensitive to position of arm relative to heart and does not work with patients having compromised circulatory systems. Save your money, buy something else.
