Good weight loss product! June 7, 2008 1 out of 1 found this comment useful.
I'm not overweight by Alli standards, but I'm chubby. I've been struggling to lose 7 pounds for the past two years. I talked to my doctor and he recommended trying Alli to help me lose the weight. Unless I eat a high fat meal, I do not get any of the side effects. When I do eat a high fat meal, I do get all of the side effects. The oily spots in the bowel movement are orange or brown and they smell terrible...like nothing I have ever smelled before and the smell lingers in the bathroom for hours! My sister started using this product as well and she said the same thing. Becareful about farting when using this product because "terrible" things can happen. The stains left on your underwear are extremely difficult to get out. Don't rely JUST on this product to lose weight. You still have to exercise and diet! I've lost 2 of my 7 pounds in the past month...so I'm happy with the results.
Alli 120 count June 4, 2008 1 out of 1 found this comment useful.
I am happy with the product. My only complaint is that the bottle did not come in the original package, just the bottle. It was sealed though and did not appear tampered with in any way. The original package contains information to gain access to the website, so this was a little annoying. I contact the distributor, and they said they do not receive the bottle in the original package, which made me a little leery. I then had to contact Alli customer service and explain the situation and they provided me the access code needed to get to the website. All in all, I am very happy with the product and have already seen positive change. I would definitely but it again, since amazon has the best prices I have found.
It works May 27, 2008 I am not a member of the target users for Alli. I was in the normal weight range but just wanted to feel better about myself. If you follow the suggested plan and take Alli, the weight definitely will come off. I wanted to lose 10 pounds, and I have achieved a 15 pound weight loss. Of course, I had to be responsible for my food intake and exercise, but I could not have done it without Alli.
OTC version of a former prescription med May 25, 2008 0 out of 1 found this comment useful.
Benefits: -Psychological relief when you eat badly. Cannot attest to personal weight loss, but did not experiance signifigant weight gain. -Amazons low price !! You won't beat this deal (about $55 bucks as of 5/24/2008) -No side effects related to operating machinery (tiredness or dizzyness). -General good eating advice included! -Anyone who doesn't live soley on grapes and carrots could occasionally use this product.
Cons: -Anal Leakage, & other realted bathroom issues. (seriously, but preventable by eating healthier) -Awful, painful gas and bloating. -It IS $55 bucks, they ain't giving it away. -You have to carry pills with you all the time if you eat out alot, taking it too early could make the side effects worse.
I am very glad the FDA cleared this type of drug for over the counter sale. There used to be a very similar pill sold by prescription only (xenical). I suppose considering the overwhelming problem we have with weight in the USA, they actually decided to make the seemingly moral choice to put this out so everyone could purchase it. I suppose the underlying reason (thinking special interest groups) would be that the food industry would benefit greatly by having people eat more, as a psychological side effect of this medication. Whether it's true or not, this is what I did. I have had a *ahem* "disorder" that 'forced' myself to eat low fat, healthy foods. I bought Allia so I could taste pizza for the first time in a year without feeling bad about it. I ended up eating pizza pretty often (and I did really enjoy it). I am not overweight, I was a few pounds underweight, and Allia did not 'help' me remain at my low weight. I gained weight, a little bit (probably healthy weight). But then it leveled off, straight through my Blue Bell Anniversary Cake ice cream fetish period. Since I have been off (a few months), I have gained MORE weight, so I am re-adjusting my eating habits and considering buying it again. Yes it gave me gas and an overall not happy intestinal experiance (which is really only an issue when eating pizza or high fat foods), but it's pretty much worth it. I would reccomend it, and I wish they made one to block carbs this effectivley.
Follow the Program & See Results May 25, 2008 I've lost 25 pounds with Alli's help so far. I can't recommend this product enough if you are ready to commit to changing your lifestyle with the byproduct of healthy weight loss. The online program is a fantastic addition beyond the little blue pills. Weekly check-ins, message boards and tips emails to help you stay on track. Along the way, alli will also send you some very helpful gifts in the mail.
If you're ready to follow the program, try it. You will see results!
