Excellent, practical heart rate monitor November 23, 2008 Overall it deserves five stars, but I decreased to 4 because selecting a few setup functions may not be that intuitive and the out of heart rate alarm does not stop by itself after a few seconds but continues. I thought that wearing the sensor in my breast was going to be inconvenient, but it is very well designed and did not bother me at all and I got the convenience of continuously seeing my HR, even more, you can place the watch on top of your exercise machine and continuously see how you are doing. In general the functions are easy to access, it present different options to display the HR... very practical.
Awesome November 19, 2008 Awesome about sums it up. This product is ready to go and very user friendly. The feature of H/R zone (5) plus chrono is great.
If your thinking about a top end H/R monitor at a budgit price this is it. Polars are so over rated! Come on, a Polar with with same features will run you well over a $100.00.
FIrst HRM watch October 25, 2008 I wanted to get a read on my heart rate during my runs and when I was at rest. My rest rate is very low. The watch is easy to use and set up. The actual Monitor fits around your chest and requires a little moisture in order to pick up the Electrical Signal that makes your heart beat. If it is on snug and moistened I believe the rate to be 99% accurate. I read a lot of reviews before pciking this one the one that caught my attention was how easy it was to start using it.
Battery in heart rate monitor (Chest portion) dead in 2 days October 19, 2008 I love the features of this heart rate monitor. It is a little complicated to program, and figure out everything that can be utilized, but it is manageable. The problem was that I gave this thing a good workout the second day I had it. I woke up early the next morning to head to the gym, and could not get a signal at all after strapping on the chest portion. I know sometimes people just get duds, but I was very disappointed. You don't want a downer like that when you're trying to stay motivated to achieve an exercise goal. It would be better if they had shipped the battery separately. The problem was fixed when I purchased a new 3V battery at the corner drugstore. I'm going to keep an eye on the battery life in general for this unit and will update the review accordingly. Overall decent value for the money but you might want to shop around.
Worked for awhile October 17, 2008 At first I loved the performance, but now I can't even get a heart beat after changing batteries etc. I have only had this device for 2.5 months.
