4 out of 5 stars Good Diapers   April 7, 2008

Good diapers. I haven't tried many others, but they were superior to the Luvs and the Albertsons store brand I tried. They are a bit costly, and of course, they aren't entirely "green" but they are healthier for my baby.

4 out of 5 stars Great idea but with some flaws   April 5, 2008

I love that there are environmental friendly (or friendlier) options on the market and I'll do whatever I can to help future generations with the problems that past generations have created. However, I do find that these diapers are a bit bulky for a newborn and I'm not fond of the elastic in the legs. When you put them on they seem like they are baggy but when you take them off you can see where the elastic has been "pinching" the baby's thigh. With a little practice I'm hoping that I can work with the design flaws so that I don't have this problem. I do like the fastener tabs on these diapers - they are simple to use. Overall these diapers kind of remind me of the first vegetarian/organic food options that hit the supermarket shelves...great idea but they've got a ways to go before they are the best choice for reasons other than the environmental benefits.

3 out of 5 stars A decent newborn diaper   February 13, 2008

We tried almost all newborn size diapers and they all have their issues. We had leaks with them all. At least with Seventh Generation you feel better about the environment.

5 out of 5 stars like these diapers!   February 3, 2008

These diapers have worked really well for us with our newborn. They fit her well and are very absorbent. Plus, they are better for the environment so that is a big bonus.

I am glad Seventh Generation exists as a company -- that's why I tried these diapers in the first place. And because of the good reviews here and elsewhere. I have to say I am extremely disappointed. First, like one of the other reviewers, I have had multiple stool leaks with these diapers -- a repeated, huge mess that is upsetting to Baby and extremely so to my husband. The baby hasn't had these problems with Pampers. Also, when she wets a lot, the diaper stays wet to her skin, which causes her to FLIP OUT. I am not advocating delaying changing your baby's wet diaper, obviously, but if you're at the Post Office trying to mail Christmas packages, for example, you might prefer to wait til you get back home or at least to the car and not have the Baby wailing the entire time. Besides, can all that wetness on her skin be good for her? I would think not. At bottom (no pun intended), I guess that I feel the environmental effects of these diapers as opposed to others are so uncertain and/or miniscule that I am not willing to upset my entire family and have her mess all over the place. I would not buy these again.
