4 out of 5 stars Great Product   January 6, 2009
This is a great humidifier for cold region places. It increases the humidity in the room quickly and makes it more comfortable. Many people have a complaint about the noise, but I do not lose any sleep from it. I have to replace the water about every 12 hours, which is a little more often then I would like. Overall this is a good buy that I would recommend for everyone.

4 out of 5 stars Great!   December 22, 2008
I love the fact it is Germ and filter free. We have this in our sons room and it is relatively quiet. It does have the boiling water sound which isn't too bad. I have to fill it once every other night, which is great! It is very easy to clean and I recommend it. The mineral pads cut down on the buid-up inside the machine thus cuts down on the cleaning process.

1 out of 5 stars Steer Clear   December 5, 2008

Steer clear of this piece of junk. After one month of use, the 2 gallon water tank completely drained onto the floor and water poured into the basement below. The bottom of the water tank that fits onto the base unit had melted. I called the manufacturer who sent a replacement water tank. When I installed the new tank, the same thing immediately happened although this time I caught it before the water tank melted. Obviously the problem is in the base unit. I cannot receive a refund and am waiting for the manufacturer to send a replacement base unit. Not sure if I will trust the new one. Both leaks occurred with no warning and I am worried about the possibility of a fire since the base unit was filled with water.

5 out of 5 stars warm moisture a better choice   April 17, 2008

For roughly $30 more than a normal humidifier, this warm moisture humidifier is more than worth it. It works WAY better than the cheaper setup and if you take into account the filters you would have to buy for the cheaper one, a way better (and cheaper), deal.

2 out of 5 stars Humidistat did not function   April 12, 2008
Humidistat was either all on, or all off. While on, it became too humid and fogged windows creating mold. Also, after one tank of water, the boiling chamber had quite a bit of scale (our water is hard). So, it would have been a lot of maintenance to clean the boiling chamber.
