 Soothing throat and cough relief, not too sweet, natural flavour. October 6, 2008
I get the kind of coughs that stay with you for weeks...and I go through a lot of cough drops just getting through my days :) My two favourites are Ricola Original, and Grether's Black current pastilles. The Ricola really seems to help me suppress my cough, and the Grether's...they are like a hard gummy-fruit candy, only not as sweet. Sucking on more than one doesn't upset my stomach the way nearly every other mentholated or sugary cough drop can. I love the flavour, as I'm not keen on extremely sweet or artificially flavoured anything. These taste of black current, last quite a long time, and are EXTREMELY soothing for sore throats as well as helping coughs. These are also the ONLY cough drops my younger son will tolerate. I always keep a supply on hand during cold season, and a spare box in my purse "just in case". The best EVER.
