5 out of 5 stars Good value product   September 7, 2008
I use this product for one of our cats who just got diagnosed with diabetis over christmas 2007. The cost of the vet quality syringes were ridiculous, so we shopped around online and found these. I'm happy with them, and I'm a repeat bulk customer.

The first lot (3 or 4 boxes) had a couple of syringes that couldn't suck the insulin so I had to get new ones. Now I've worked out that its not so much the syringe as it is the vacuum that was inside the insulin vial. It helps to inject the same amount of air into the vial that you're taking out. i.e. start with the plunger at 3 units, inject into vial, push the 3 units of air into it, draw 3 units of insulin out, and you're ready to go! I think once I got a needle that bent before I could inject my cat. But 1 out of 400 is not bad.

29 gauge is probably the best, since any thinner and it will definitely bend more, and any thicker, then my cat will feel the pricks. Every now and then, if I get him at the wrong angle, he looks up and gives me a quick "meow". But for the most part, he doesn't even look up.

I ordered my second lot (5 or 6 boxes) a few weeks ago. I bought a couple of boxes of the same product earlier in the year and I've been pretty happy with it so far.

Recommend this product, good value for money.

4 out of 5 stars good product   October 30, 2007
Good quality product. Needle locks onto plunger when done and needle is pulled back into syringe. If your looking detachable needle this isn't for you. Quality for price definitly.
