1 out of 5 stars Not cool!   October 4, 2008

Oh I am so disappointed! This sounded like the answer to my need for something to keep my diabetes medicine pen cold while I travelled, however, it did not live up to its promise. The pen was not kept cold, in fact it was barely above tepid. It really did not work.

3 out of 5 stars It will not reactivate after a few months   May 20, 2008

It works well in the first few months of use, but after I'd say 6 months the reactivation time increases and fianlly you can't reactivate the pouch at all.

I also bought Frio at about the same time and that still seems to be working however the Poucho initial activation seems to last longer 72 hours compared to 48.

4 out of 5 stars Works great but is a little too snug   April 6, 2008

I purchased this item to keep my Byetta pen cool while traveling in the car. It works great at keeping things cool with no refridgeration and is small enough to slip into my purse. I've only used it on day trips so far and I've never left it in the car, I keep it in my purse. I really like the fact that it's activated with water which makes re-activation easy. The only problem I've found is that the single pen size is a little too snug fitting. I wish it was tad bit wider because it's a struggle sometimes to get the pen out and back in again. Still, with that said I think it's a great product and would recommend it highly.

1 out of 5 stars disapointed again   April 3, 2008

This insulin pouch does not work for long. It states that it can be activated in minutes and reactivated in seconds. After several months of owning it, It will not activate even overnight. Going back to the FRIO brand.

4 out of 5 stars Insulin Carrying Case   May 12, 2007

This item was purchased for my wife, a recent insulin user. We are both RN's and Diabetis, being a big big health care issue, it was important for both of us to get a product that we trust to keep the insulin safe. Which means that when we travel it is important for the insulin to remain cool so it will be useable.
This product will do this but it also needs considerable attention. It is designed to keep the vial of insulin cool by evaporation more than by refrigeration or direct contact with a coolong item like ice pack. If you do not pay attention to where it is placed it could warm up quickly.
It is a very nice looking and tidy product. It does fit in a purse or ice chest easily. It is a nice product.
My only real concern is that the uneducated will think it is something that will remain cool even if left in the car unprotected. If I remember correctly the package does expalin this and the info is there IF the User reads the info packet.
