Excellent taste November 4, 2008 Progresso Light Tuna in Olive Oil is great. Don't be put off by the fact it's not white meat. The meat has a pinkish hue. It most definitely is not cat food. The olive oil moderates the fishy taste and odor you've probably experienced with water packed tunas.
If you live or visit LA, you can buy a can to taste at Gelson's.
It's Dark meat October 27, 2008 The tuna has a nice taste, but it is not light meat, as the label says. It is cat-food brown. Want white tuna? Try Bumble Bee Prime Fillet Solid White Albacore.
Just add lemon juice and go! May 31, 2008 1 out of 1 found this comment useful.
You don't have to drain this--just add lemon juice or vinegar and whatever vegetables (celery, pickles) you like in tuna salad and you're good to go. It is also great, again with lemon juice, over pasta or lettuce. Great price, too.
One taste, you will give up albacore tuna for life. May 11, 2008 1 out of 1 found this comment useful.
Yes, this is true . I treat myself and my loved ones with quality food at affordable prices. This tuna I had as a boy growing up and today it tastes even better. Don,t forget this tuna is not albacore, it is yellowfin. This is a better tasting more expensive tuna, with olive oil. You will agree , with a touch of red onions , a little mayo, and maybe Italian bread or a toasted bagel, or even freshly toasted rye bread with the seeds. Oboy you think you died and went to Heaven. Trust me, Retired Early
Buy this tuna! April 7, 2008 1 out of 1 found this comment useful.
This is a superb tuna! As a chef I often use imported tuna in olive oil,and this product is equal to the most expensive I have tried! I have read the reviews and people said they received dented cans. All of my cans were perfect, but one shouldn't mind dented as long as they are dented in and not bloated out. The product is imported so through all of it's travels denting happens. At this price, its a bargain! I highly recommend the fine, elegant, tuna flavor, without fishiness! I am sold!
