When I spotted these grocery items on Amazon.Com and compared the prices to our local store, I knew I had a great deal. We live in a very remote area, and it is often hard to find what you are looking for. I am never unhappy with Amazon's service ever, and one cannot go wrong with Betty Crocker.

I had high expectations, I LOVE sweet potatoes. The difference between this and home made is much more noticeable than with regular mashed potatoes. It's too sweet and the texture is too dry, if you add more liquid is runny.
It is a mix or a powder of sweet potatoes (real sweet potatoes?, I cannot say) and regular potato flakes. The flavor is really overwhelming, too strong. The second time I prepared it I added more regular flakes to soften the flavor, but the texture was still unpleasant when compared to the real homemade one, and then it is hard to calculate the amount of liquid to add, unless you make a whole 2 or more servings of the regular mashed , which would be too much.
As a life saver if you crave sweet potatoes and don't have them I guess is OK, but I would not substitute the real one if you have time to get them and cook them and mashed them. I would never use this i.e. for a nice Thanksgiving dinner, when you NEED the sweet potatoes to treat your family and friends
