Daughter loves this bread! December 30, 2008 I am surprised to see such negative reviews for this product. My daughter now 19, has been on a gluten free diet since she was 11. We've tried many GF breads over the years and this one is her favorite. She does toast it before eating, but it tastes good (I've eaten it, too) and stays together great.
Wheat-free, Gluten-free Bread September 16, 2008 Good option for a WF/GF diet, but texture is dry, so it crumbles easily. My son prefers to eat it toasted, which helps make the texture more like regular bread containing wheat.
Not worth it July 26, 2008 1 out of 1 found this comment useful.
We are new to the gluten-free world but found this bread unexceptable. Less than 1 star, but that was not an option. Whether fresh, toasted or grilled it was dry, crumbly, had an odor and strange after taste. After more checking we found "Sami" millet & flax seed bread. You have to toast or grill it, but it is FANTASTIC. We are enjoying toast with breakfast and toasted or grilled sandwiches again. So don't bother with the Ener-G look for Sami
better can be found April 5, 2008 This is one of the worst gluten-free breads I have tried. Fortunately it is also egg-free and dairy-free but I found the texture strange.
Good choice if one is dairy, gluten, wheat and egg allergic. November 23, 2007 There are tastier bread options if one is not eating gluten alone, however if there are allergens such as egg and dairy this is a nice, convenient option to have. Since wheat and gluten is not all we have to avoid, I'm glad that Papa's loaf is a bread my son enjoys. The best ways to eat this bread are toasted and if one wants a softer bread, I put a spread (Mothers Margarine) on the bread and warm it up in the microwave.
