5 out of 5 stars Lost 21 pounds in my first month!   December 25, 2007

I am so glad I found this book, and fortunate to live in Dr. Rivas area! I just turned 50 and did not realize how much I weighed as my clothes were starting the stretched pocket thing going on... I told myself this is it and I am not going into a bigger size! I went to see Dr. Rivas and his theory is so correct! I lost 21 lbs in my first month, 5 inches off my waist, 3 inches off my hips, and 3 inches in my chest! I always weighed about 145 - but as time goes on and we get married, have kids, eat wrong, no exercie in our busy lives.. I packed on 123lbs in 30 yrs. It was when I turned 50 I decided to turn my life around - beside making 50 the New 40! I also had a bad past 10 yrs. I lost my husband, then my mom, raising my 2 daughters myself gave me alot of stress. I was out of control! But thanks to this book and Dr. Rivas - I am back on track! I don't want to be 145lbs again. My first goal is to reach 200lbs. then take it from there... So I have 47 lbs to go... I feel great and so much energy and my knees are not screaming at me. Do it for yourself - I am!

2 out of 5 stars Not what I expected   February 18, 2006

I didn't expect this to be a pro-ephedra book. Ephedra may be "all-natural" but I certainly didn't expect it to be the supplement of choice. Even harder to "swallow" were statements that exercise and cutting back on calories will probably not help you lose weight. There didn't seem to be a lot of significant studies or scientific proof to back up his claims as to which supplements work. Certainly not the diet plan for me.
