5 out of 5 stars GREAT, UNBIASED BOOK!   November 1, 2005

Of course the usual meat & dairy advocates come on here, trying to claim that T. Colin Campbell has some sort of agenda. Tell me, does he gain profits when people buy broccoli? Vegans may care about animals, and you may call that an "agenda" if you wish, but it is hardly a monetary/profit-based agenda, and certainly people have and will become vegan for the animals and the environment, even if it's NOT the best diet for health (but fortunately for the vegans who eat a whole-foods diet, it is best for health).

I highly recommend the book for anyone seeking answers about how to become healthier. One reviewer mentioned they "couldn't" give up "steak"/eating cows. I guess you can depend on medications and drugs to keep your health in check if you want to consume such high cholesterol, saturated fat, excess protein items.

And to further refute the anti-soy, meat industry advocators, I'd defer to the studies of the American Cancer Society, the American Institute for Cancer Research, the American Obesity Assocation, the American Association of Diabetes Educators, the Cleveland Clinic, the Mayo Clinic, Cornell University, Johns Hopkins University, Northwestern University, and Tufts University. I suppose those organizations and universities gain from sales of whole grains, legumes, nuts, seeds, vegetables, and fruit as well...

I believe in taking responsibility for my health in my own hands. The better informed, the more I can take the proper steps to a full and healthy life, not depending on drugs and doctors and government! This book is a great eye opener not only about the world of nutrition and healthy eating, but about the grey areas of government run agencies.

5 out of 5 stars Informative & shocking! A must read for everyone!   October 18, 2005

This is an amazing book about exactly what we know about cancer and it's causes. The shocking truth -- we have known for years that animal products are a huge cause of cancer, and it is not just red meat, it is red meat, pork, chicken, fish, egss and dairy. ALL anmial products. So what should we do? Eat a vegan diet -- to prevent cancer, heart disease and many other diseases.

This is, without a doubt, the most informative and best book I have ever read relating diet to health!
