Excellent exploration of sex and evolution June 14, 1998 The Red Queen is an eye-opening exploration of the effect of sexual selection on evlotion. Ridley demonstrates how the evolution of the peacock's tail, the deer's antlers, and the human brain have all been driven by the same powerful force - the need to impress the oposite sex. His arguments are illuminating, his logic clear, and his writing a pleasure to read.

I read this book after having read 20+ books on evolution, human evolution, and primate evolution. I was extremely impressed and pleased with it. I talk about it often and it changed my view of the subject.
This is a great book. Everyone could learn from this one. November 21, 1996 Matt clearly explains the effect of evolution on ourdaily lives. Human nature and animal life become muchclearer after reading this book. If you want to know why we are alive, read this book.
