Very Nice Book September 11, 2007 I think this is a must for anyone going into nursing or the health care field. Nice bright pictures and answers to every problem. I would highly recommend it!!
Math for Meds by Curren August 9, 2007 The book is well put together however, there are many typo's within the problem sets. Looking beyond that one issue, the book is well written and well planned. The greatest asset of this book lies within the number of "problems for practicing" the mathematical concepts for dosing. Personally, I found the Dimensional Analysis method to be far easier, straightforward, and lends to fewer errors than the traditional algebraic methodology set forth from the author. All in all, this book is above average.
Overall, the text is very good. July 9, 2007 This book is excellent for nursing students. It presents material in a simplistic and easy to learn format. The book provides plenty of examples, and many opportunities to practice what you've learned. It really simplifys the math.
The only problem I found is that the book has numerous errors throughtout, it is evident that a number of individuals worked on writing the instruction. However, a good editor can easily resolve these issues.
Steps you through the math skills you need to give meds. June 10, 2007 This was a great book for me, a 1st semester nursing student. Each chapter steps you through the math skills you will need to be a nurse. The chapters are easy to read and understand, and there are chapter review questions which give you a lot of practice. I highly recommend this book for nursing students!
Nothing short of exemplary! May 11, 2007 Of the many books required by my RN program, this is one of few that I consider exemplary in organization, pictures, content, and presentation. It simplifies math for medications and made it possible to attain a 100% score on my math exit exam (for nursing).
