If you are a mouth breather this will not work for you. December 9, 2008 I wish I had thought of this before I purchased this night guard -- but...I didn't. I occasionally grind my teeth when stressed, and thought this night guard would work well due to it's ability to conform to your teeth. Unfortunately this guard only works if you breathe through your nose as a tightly closed bite is what keeps it in place in your mouth. The minute I fall asleep and open my mouth, it falls out, defeating the purpose of even having a night guard. What a waste of money.

I've lost my night gaurd my orthadontist make me more times than you've said the word "the" today. And I lost if one last time around...4 months ago. And everyone in the world was sad. Mainly me. As it cost a grand for that stupid thing. So, it;s gone, and I wanted another. But, I now live in CA and it was made in MI. They asked me to fly back, and pay [...] for a replacement. I declined. Now, I have a dentist they asked me to pay [...] for one that I now is gonna be crap. So, no. I have boughten bunches of mouth gaurds. And with each one my ability to take a punch to my face has risen as they are all the equivalent of the mouthpieces I use for Muay Thai. Now, I bought this one, and yes it's [...] more than all the others ones I've bought. This one it honestly the best. I have it in right now. It's green. True story. It's comfortable, I can sleep with it. I don't look like I'm trying to scare kids. I can honestly tell you, that your going to spend money over and over again looking for the perfect gaurd. (that will push your jaw out of alignment buy the way). Just pay the extra money, and get this one. It is honestly the best non-orthadontist bite gaurd I've ever used. And it's not meant to be used in Kickboxing. It's for sleeping. Happily. Don't get green though. Cause say you stay at my house, then we both put them down, I might get yours. Thats gross.
Best Night Guard Ever!!!! July 31, 2008 5 out of 5 found this comment useful.
I've been searching for a good night guard for ages. Originally my dentist said I needed one and had one custom made for me. It cost me $400 since my insurance didn't cover it. It worked okay for a little while until I stopped wearing it for a month. Well my teeth must have shifted in that time because it was really tight and hurt my teeth. That was the end of that night guard since it couldn't be refitted. Next I found one at the grocery store (Dental Concepts Night Guard) and it cost around $25. It worked okay. It was the kind that you mold to your teeth and it was a soft rubber. It was also really bulky and unattractive and for some reason I had a tendency to bite down hard on it when I was going to sleep. It also made me salivate a lot and I couldn't really breathe through my mouth. But it was better than the one I got from the dentist and way less expensive. When I needed to replace that one I purchased the exact same thing but I think they must have redesigned it because it was even bulkier than before. I couldn't use it at all because the excess rubber in the back was making me gag. That was the end of that one. Next I purchased one online (Stressgard) for $10. I didn't want to spend too much money so I was looking for one that was cheap in case I had to throw it away as well. Guess what, I threw it away after the first night. It was loose in my mouth and kept poking into my gums. It lasted about one hour before I couldn't stand it anymore and took it out. I gave up for a while and then decide to go back to the one I purchased at the grocery store. Maybe it would be better this time. Well, my grocery store didn't carry it anymore so I went online to see if I could find it. That's when I found Dr. Brux. Amazon carried it but it was $49 and I didn't want to spend that much for something that would most likely fail me. The seller on Amazon didn't have a return policy so I decided to see if I could by it direct. That's when I found drbrux.com and they had a 21 day money back guarantee. They also had free shipping so what did I have to lose. So I did it. I spent $49 on a night guard. I received it two days ago and have spent one glorious night with it. Let me just tell you. It is PERFECT! It fits like a glove (just follow the instruction exactly). My jaw rests comfortably when I wear it (the last one I had made my jaw unnatural feeling). I can actually breathe through my mouth when I sleep and I don't salivate much at all. Other night guards suggest you wear them for a couple hours to get used to it. You are used to the Dr. Brux night guard instantly. Also, it's not really bulky at all. I love, love, love this thing. I'm going to tell my brother about it since he's been having the same trouble as me. So that's my story. I wanted to share it with everyone because I'm sure there are people as frustrated at I was and I hope this helps. Thank you Dr. Brux for making this product available to everyone. You have a customer for life!
