Yes, it's worth it January 23, 2006 5 out of 5 found this comment useful.
I'm buying a new Sonicare after my old one conked out after 5 years continuous use (the old one broke somewhere between Kuwait and Iraq, so that may have had something to do with it). You will definitely notice a difference in the way your teeth look and feel. Funnily enough, your morning breath won't be so bad when you brush with Sonicare. I don't see any reason to upgrade to the pricier models as the basic one will work great. It is very hard to get cavities if you brush with Sonicare, floss, and use Listerine!
Works great January 15, 2006 3 out of 4 found this comment useful.
Bought new Sonicare to replace old one which finally gave out after a number of years of good service. New one works as well as the old one.
Great Performance with negligible Cons... December 21, 2005 6 out of 7 found this comment useful.
First let's start with how I decided to buy this. I am bit lazy to brush twice a day with the manual brush and I have already had enough fillings in my teeth. My brother recommended this for me (In fact, he and his wife have been using this for a long time and they are 100 % satisfied). So I bought one from Walmart with a great deal. I cannot afford the higher end Sonicare models and I just need the Sonicare tooth cleaning functionality, not all fancy timers...so I decided to go for this.
It has many Pros. It Cleans the teeth really well. I bet you cannot get this cleaning with a manual brush. The teeth look shining for a long time. You dont need to waste a lot of toothpaste for this as this fast action brush creates enough foam for cleaning. The handle is easy to grab for me. I am not doing any more tooth pickings. You may use this brush after a heavy food (like chicken, or other meats). It cleans well!. But you still need a flosser to go deep. It gives a good cleaning over back and flat surface of the teeth too...The Cons are really not many or they are negligible...As everyone might have already told, it sprays the toothpaste foam out if you are careless. The battery power won't stay for 2 weeks as they claim. I think it's staying for around 5 or 6 days for me (Usage: Twice a day). And one more Con, you don't know when the battery charge will go away. It happened to me once, the battery power went off in the middle of brushing, so I had to wait for few minutes with the half clean teeth until the brush got charged back to finish up my brushing. So to be on a safer side, always charge it once in 4 or 5 days. Put it in the charger for over night.
But the cons are not big problems so they get overridden by the Pros. I still give 5 star for its class performance. I highly recommend this product to anyone. I hope my review on this product would help you.
Overpriced and doesn't last December 14, 2005 15 out of 21 found this comment useful.
Got two years tops out of the battery which canNOT be replaced. Bad for the environment and it costs a fortune. My Ultrasonex and Braun do as good a job if not better. I like that the Braun swirls around and seems to do better getting under the gums and between teeth. As a matter of fact I read a report comparing these three brands and the Braun won out by a good amount.
Good system, great price December 8, 2005 6 out of 6 found this comment useful.
This is my third Sonicare since 1994 and there's one thing I've come to realize: Give or take a couple features, they all clean teeth equally well.
This one might not have the special 30-second quadrant brushing beeps that some newer ones have. It might not have the skinny, flexible neck either. But when it comes to getting your teeth sparkling clean and impressing your dentist, this one gets the job done just as well.
Battery life? Never had a problem with any Sonicare, and this one is no exception.
Replacement heads? Still a bit expensive, but well worth it. For some reason, I seem to go through more of them with this model than the previous two.
I definitely recommend Sonicare and wouldn't hesitate to buy this model again.
