This was recommended by my dental hygienst and it works very well. Far superior to inexpensive type units I had used in the past.

I consider myself to be enough of a minimalist that the idea of an electric toothbrush seemed excessive to me. When my friend raved about hers (she has used hers for 5 or 6 years now) she said that it changed her life. I gave it a shot, and it took about a week or two before it didn't feel really weird but now I absolutely love it. On the occasions that I use a regular toothbrush my teeth simply don't feel clean like they do when I use my sonicare. I love this toothbrush and and feel it is well worth the investment.
It saved my teeth! But it does have a flaw! May 20, 2005 8 out of 8 found this comment useful.
This wonder-brush save me from costly dental bills and tooth decay. I've had it for about three years and it still works great. It has lost some of its former power, even at full charge, then when I bought it new but still works fine. It's a lazy man's key to tooth care. You just hold it in place and let the brush do it's magic. I love it. But it does have one flaw that I am surprised that Sonicare has not address yet. Where the brush stem connects with the head can collect water (or saliva, ewww!). And with liquid pooling in that area, leads to mold. You MUST vigorously shake out the Sonicare 4100 after each use or mold WILL grow! Besides that bit of unpleasantness it's a great toothbrush.
A pleasant brushing experience March 16, 2005 5 out of 5 found this comment useful.
I've always had a hard time brushing my teeth long enough and with the right amount of pressure (so as to not affect the enamel and gums). The Sonicare is the answer to my dreams!!
I LOVE brushing my teeth with this thing. A little beep goes off every 30 seconds so I know when to change positions. And even though it's recommended that one brush one's teeth for the full 2 minute cycle, I frequently end up brushing for 4 or more minutes since it feels so good and it makes my teeth and mouth feel refreshingly clean. Honestly, can you think of the last time you brushed your teeth with a regular toothbrush for 2 minutes at one time?
Admittedly, the initial investment is a bit steep. Yet I'm convinced it's worth the expense. The brushes last about 6 months and cost about $25 for 2 replacements. I still consider this to be a fairly small investment for my dental future. This is a great brush. Try it with confidence!
THIS IS A GREAT TOOTH BRUSH ! January 1, 2005 2 out of 2 found this comment useful.
If you have receding gum's or just want the cleanest mouth in town this is it!To the person above my brush went out after 3 year's so i called sonic care toll free and they sent me a new one i did copay on it but they where very fair! As for the people thinking the replacement brushes are a little spendy they are more then just the brush as they have the magnet part in it also and they usually have a two pack on sell for under 19 dollar's. As far as the vibration when you start using it may take a week to get use to it and yes close your mouth or you will have tooth paste flying all over ! WILL NEVER GO BACK TO ANY THING ELSE My dentist check up's have been great and my gum's are healthy! 5 STAR PRODUCT! BUY ONE!
