Still Need To Floss August 6, 2004 4 out of 4 found this comment useful.
I love my Sonicare Advance but as my dentist said, I still need to floss. Nothing can substitute proper manual flossing! Using this toothbrush, I can really tell a difference when I rub my tongue against my teeth and gums, wow! Cleans much better then a regular toothbrush. Replacements are expensive but its worth it. The one thing I would change is the cord. I hate cords and have little space and would love the base to have a retractable cord. Besides that, great toothbrush!
HEALTHY AND HELPFUL April 30, 2004 4 out of 4 found this comment useful.
As one who ha suffered the pain (and swelling) of gum surgery, I'm happy to say that this toothbrush has made all the difference for me. Prior to using Sonicare I went to my dental check-ups dreading the sound of all those "5's" the tech would find - no more. Thank you sonicare!
Very satisfied April 18, 2004 3 out of 3 found this comment useful.
After a lot of thinking and debating whether to go for an expensive Sonicare, I decided to go for it. After all its your teeth and you show them everytime you smile. They are worth it. Bottomline, I love this brush. I think it is better than a spin brush just for the fact it seems to move the way one generally brushes. It does feel good after brushing. The charge seems to hold quite good. The bristles are quite firm and seem to perform quite well. I have been using this for over one month and all the bristles seems to be in fine shape. Although they say you change the head every 3 months, for now it seems to me that they would go beyond 3 months easily. Finally, Sonicare sent me a coupon for a free head if I buy 2 heads. That makes it even better.
Expensive to own April 5, 2004 3 out of 6 found this comment useful.
I have loved my sonicare brush however they are very expensive to own. Replacement brush heads are >$10 each. Further the battery in my brush has worn out after 4 years. It will cost >$60 to replace the handle. I spoke to the customer service reps and they said the battery will typically only last 4-6 years. FYI the warranty is only good for 2 years. A great brush but too expensive to purchase and own.
One of the 10 things I'd take to a desert island... February 17, 2004 2 out of 2 found this comment useful.
I bought this two weeks ago and they aren't kidding about the stain reduction. I drink several cups of tea a day and already see an improvement. As well, my teeth feel fantastic. My bottom teeth aren't straight and flossing was always a nightmare; now I just brush first and flossing's a breeze. I can't believe I waited so long to get one. I also have some gum pockets that I hope will tighten up. I'm actually looking forward to my next dental appt. to see what they say. On a practical note, I think this "cheaper" version is ample. It turns out I brush longer than 2 minutes, and if the brush beeped every 30 seconds I'd go mad. Also, I bought the compact head, which seems great; even with this extra purchase it was a lot less than the more advanced models. I know some people complained that the battery doesn't last more than a few years, but at this price, so what. Highly recommend this product to all.
