4 out of 5 stars Perfect for wrists   December 2, 2008
I recently broke both wrists and have to apply heat and ice often. These have been wonderful. The only reason I give 4 stars rather than 5, is that for me, at least, the velcro is almost too strong. It is hard to undo and leaves fuzzies all over the blue area when it touches it. Overall though, this is a great buy for anyone who needs ice or heat for the wrists. I recommend just tossing the storage bags that come with it and putting them into gallon freezer ziplocs. They are easier to deal with than the small bags that come with the product.

3 out of 5 stars Could be Colder   October 15, 2008
This is a great product. I've bought other from the same company for other body parts and they get really, really cold which is what you want when you need an ice pack. Maybe I'm just inolerant to cold now that I've been doing it for so long.........While it's cool, it's just not as cold as the same one I use in physical therapy so I was a little disappointed at that.

It also fits snugly around my wrist and holds on well. I haven't used the heat, but I have on other products and they work pretty well. I would assume this would do the same. Just be careful not to burn yourself (ouch!)

Overall, I would recommend this product.

2 out of 5 stars Elasto-gel wrist does not last   June 1, 2007

Problematic product - The velcro tears up the blue covering. Biggest problem is that it only stays cold for about 8-10 minutes when wrapped around my elbow. Very disappointing.

4 out of 5 stars Pretty Good   March 12, 2007
My friend has a very old one of these and I liked it so much I wanted one as well. However the newer ones are not as nice. The velcro sticks to the blue fabric causing it to pucker. On some sites they claim this this is basically indistructable but when you get it there are warnings all over it about not getting it wet or storing it in the freezer without putting it in a plastic bag.

It is very cold when you first take it out but after 20 minutes, its barely cold at all. The velco is hard to use on your own (you really need a third hand).

I use mine primarily on my elbow. Given a chance to go back, I would most likely have bought a different product (still elast-gel) because it just isnt that great for the elbow.

I have used many types of cold/hot packs over the years, but have now thrown them all out! I used this product as a cold pack during therapy after surgery on my wrist recently. After the first use, I just had to get one for home too. The flexability and comfort is amazing. It remains very secure so you don't have to "hold still" like a traditional cold pack. Also, there is no need to put a towel between the pack and your skin as you would with ice or other cold packs, and the "cooling" continues much longer than you would expect. This is the best investment I've ever made!
