 Better than average, less than promise December 12, 2008
This product, Biofreeze, surely is better than most other products I and my family have used over more than fifty years. It is easy to use and offers temporary relief. However, the promise of the product is that it has a special herbal ingredient that works almost wonders. That does not seem to be true. Overall, the product is better than average. A great alternative product, which though is smellier, is Iodex.

I've used this stuff for sore muscles and aching back. My daughter uses it for her sore ankles and legs from running. You still need to use hot-cold treatment for many aches and pains, but it appears to continue the soothing after the hot-cold treatment. The plastic tube that it comes in is prone to cracking. Once cracked, it will release slowly release the menthol (the active ingredient) to render the stuff useless.

This is the BEST product for muscular-backpain product I've ever used. Definitely worth the shipping costs-Im in costa rica so its even more to pay than if I were a costumer in the US, and still soooooo worth it!
You don't have to rub it very much, pretty effortless, and in about 2 minutes it starts working, you can really feel it cooling the area where applied deep down into the muscles. The scent does fade away, and yes it has menthol but its not like other products where it really smells for hours. Would definitely recommend it, and will buy it again when mine is gone.

I first came about this product during my therapy for minor tendonitis. It felt extremely COOL and almost numbing. Made the pain go away flawlessly. It has an even better effect when applied with ice during or after. Great product for any pain. Gel is thicker than most Ive seen before. It really stays put. Terrific product.
