5 out of 5 stars Delicious!   December 26, 2008
These meltaways taste so good, I can see why my daughter keeps asking for them like candy. So much better than fighting with my toddler over medicine syringes or syrup cups, these meltaways dissolve very quickly and have a terrific flavor. My favorite is the bubblegum flavor, but it also comes in watermelon and grape.

The Meltaways come in two dosages; one for ages 2-6 and another for ages 6-11, so be sure you're getting the right one. The one for ages 2-6 have tablets which are 80mg of acetaminophen. The one for ages 6-11 have 160mg of acetaminophen.

Since 2 years old (or children 22-26 lbs) usually get 160 mg, I can either give her 2 tablets from the meltaways for ages 2-6. But depending on the price, I've found that it can be cheaper to buy the meltaways for age 6-11 and just give her one tablet from there. Dr. Sears actually has an excellent medicine dosing chart online at askdrsears dot com. So you can go there and look up the specific dosage for your child's specific age and weight.

This product is excellent. Besides being a pain and fever reducer, children like it due to the flavor. I used to struggle with my three year old kid to make him open his mouth to take the Tylenol syrup. Now that it comes in meltaways, I even have to hide the pills so he doesnt take them as if they are candy.
