5 out of 5 stars Excellent fit/Excellent product   November 28, 2008
A great price and terrific service. It was easy and comfortable to prepare the mold they sent, to return it (prepaid envelope provided), and receive a perfecly fitting, comfortable night guard. Turnaround time was better than any local dentists' I had gone to, and the price was, well, unmatchable.

5 out of 5 stars Works well   May 10, 2008

I was skeptical when I purchased this. I grind my teeth terribly.

However, the mixing putty was easy to use and the impressions easy to make. Delivery was fairly quick. I've had a mouth guard custom made from my dentist in the past and this was pretty much exactly the same thing. I have a small mouth so had to use the bottom mouth tray to make both impressions, but it worked easily.

I found that by treating their customer service with the respect people deserve, I received respect and support back. They were very helpful.

4 out of 5 stars Great Night Guard!   April 9, 2008

The night guard is great. It fits perfectly. The night guard I purchased is the hard acrylic type (not the soft one which they are selling here on Amazon), which I bought directly from their website. The night guard I received is sort of a hybrid of a hard and soft guard. The outer casing is hard acrylic, and the inside, where your teeth go, is made of a softer material. It's very comfortable. I have bought night guards from dentists in the past (both hard night guards and soft night guards -- the soft guards only last me a few months since I'm a heavy grinder). The last night guard I had, that my dentist made was hard acrylic, which was not as comfortable (and bulkier) as the one I bought from this company. The dentist made night guard lasted for 7 years. Even if my new night guard doesn't last as long, the comfort and price factor should make up for it.

I've tried other alternatives, before purchasing this new night guard, such as boil and bite, and they have been horrible.

I do agree with the other reviewer that their customer service isn't the best. I did need to check my order a couple of times, and they do try to correct any problems and make you happy. The turn around period is slow. I live in GA, where the company is located, and shipping times still took a long time.

Although there are some customer service flaws, their product speaks for itself, and I am saving hundreds of dollars. I will purchase from them again in the future.

1 out of 5 stars not worth the $$   March 5, 2008

A month after I placed my order I received the guard in the mail. When I contacted customer service via phone, after I placed my order, I got the run-around and was referred to "live chat" which they eventually claimed wasn't working properly. I haven't tried to use it again to verify if it works any differently than the day I tried using it. The merchant clearly did not understand my frustration with trying to get customer service. In frustration I bombarded every email address on their web site stating my displeasure and I did get the attention of the merchant. I did get status email from the merchant, the last one stating the guard would be mailed out and I would get a tracking number. That didn't happen. The getting the tracking number part. The guard was mailed out. I received it a week and a day after the last email from the merchant.

The guard is a little less bulky than boil-n-bite OTC guards and not nearly as nice as the guard my dentist made for me. The guard invokes my gag reflex and interferes with my tongue. Maybe if I trimmed it...but that kind of defeats the purpose of spending all that money for a custom guard.

My recommendation: If you are in need of a night guard, either spend the extra money to get one from your dentist or stick with the OTC boil and bite guards, some which are only slightly bulkier than the one you would get from this merchant. My dentist made me a guard in less than a week!

If you decide to order one here is what to expect: You will get the impression kit. I got mine 4 mailing days after I ordered. I took the impression that night and dropped it off at the Post Office the next morning. The merchant claims it took 10 days for them to receive the impression and then they claim they "rushed" my guard, which means it was made and shipped the next day. (The postmark doesn't quite agree with what the merchant told me.) My guard was USPS Priority mailed to me. From what I understand, the use of USPS Priority mail is atypical. If I wouldn't have become a problem customer, I would probably be waiting another week to receive my guard. In any case, for me, a problem customer, it took a whole month from placing my order to receiving my guard. To give you some perspective on shipping times, I live in MA and the lab is in GA. If you live further away from the lab than I do, expect the shipping times to be longer.

I wonder how hectic the refund process is going to be. The merchant claims a risk-free 30-day guarantee.

Update 4.22.8 - The refund process was fast and painless. Kudos to the company for living up to their guarantee.
