Great Product That Works April 7, 2008 Our two young sons both had problems with molluscum, and this product has proven to be terrific in clearing it up. As long as you're diligent in putting it on, we've found it will clear up the problem. We were able to avoid the more traditional method of burning the warts off that many doctors push. Our daughter had warts covering her hands before, and they just came back after the doctor burned them off. We didn't want to go through that again with our boys, and we didn't have to.
Cure for molluscum April 6, 2008 ZymaDerm This product is fantastic! My daughter had a few spots on her waist for several months which the doctor said to treat with wart solution but basically said there was no really effective treatment and the spots would go away on their own (eventually). However, the spots started spreading and soon were on about 20% of her body. She became very self-conscious about them. That's when I read about ZymaDerm on the internet and ordered some straight away. My daughter was thrilled that the spots started disappearing within a few days of applying the solution. After only a week the molluscum had completely gone. A wonderful product, highly recommended.
No noticable results April 5, 2008 We've tried Zymaderm on 3 members of our family, myself included, with no obvious results. I have to admit that we haven't used it as consistently as we should, but after several months of on-and-off use, I haven't noticed any improvment.
I'm almost amused by the comments from people who've used it for "only" a month, and say it works. Molluscum can last much longer than that, but each bump WILL eventually turn red and "burst" by itself - that's the normal progression of the infection. (By the way, DO NOT apply Zymaderm to a bump once it's started to turn red or has burst - it probably won't help, and may be painful.)
We consulted a dermatologist for my daughter, due to the location of the bumps. He said the most sure cure is to freeze off the bumps with liquid nitrogen. This more expensive than Zymaderm, of course. But it works IMMEDIATELY, almost painlessly, and she's not had one recurrence (although there are no guarantees). He also suggested that anything that would irritate the infection might speed up the healing process, by stimulating the immune system's natural response. He gave us samples of Retin-A (an off-label usage); although with limited use, I didn't see any improvment with that, either. You could use your imaginiation to find other (safe) things to try.
Bottom line: Zymaderm may be worth trying, as it's much cheaper than going to a dermatologist. But don't expect miracles.
It's working! March 25, 2008 We've been using Zymaderm for about 4 weeks now. The warts are not completely gone yet, but almost! My daughter only complained one time about it hurting one of the warts that had broken open, so we laid off that one for a couple of days. Since then, there have been no complaints and we are very pleased! Definitely give it a try!
Finally a cure!! March 18, 2008 Thank you so much finally for a treatment for molluscum!! I'm treating my 3rd child for molluscum and my older two had it also. We tried everything with them from freezing to beetle juice. Torture for those poor children. I just thought I would leave my 3rd child's alone because it does eventually go away but he has eczema and it just wasn't getting better. It's been about a month and I haven't even really been persistant with the application and they are already going away. He actually helps put it on with a q tip and he thinks he's the doctor. It doesn't hurt, he thinks it tickles. It's a wonderful Godsend to those battling with this horrible virus. Hopefully we will have a summer without molluscum. FINALLY!!!!!
