 Never Trusted the Readings June 24, 2006

This was my 3rd or 4th attempt at getting a reliable ear thermometer. With this particular one the readings were always different, even within a matter of seconds, and depending on which ear was used. A difference of a few tenths of a point would be normal but differences of a point or more is not acceptable. The only reason I gave it 2 stars is for the ease of use of ear thermometers in general, but in hindsight, this one is not even a tradeoff for ease since I had to buy yet a different brand, which, by the way, I am extremely pleased with. One other comment, this model of Lumiscope is a 2215, and there is one that seems to be exactly the same model for a very different price. I don't have time to check it out but you might want to read the info on both before buying one.
