Definitely Works, But Uncomfortable to Wear All Night October 23, 2008 1 out of 1 found this comment useful.
First of all, it is important that your nose is clear of congestion. Otherwise, you will find it hard to breathe. The chin strap pulls your mouth firmly closed to the point your lips may pucker outward. In other words, it is difficult for you to breathe through your mouth. That is why you cannot snore. However, I have some concern that if my nose should become heavily congested during the night, I might have trouble to breathe at all. I guess that might cure snoring and breathing all at the same time. :) I usually wake up after a few hours and pull the apparatus off my head. The straps are adjustable Velcro, but since my head is on the large side, I had to use the most extreme open position. But after using it for a month or two, it has stretched enough to easily use the velcro setting. If you have hair, it gets in the way and hair is pointed in all directions adding some discomfort. I'm thinking about getting a hair net and then install this over it.
There are denture mouth devices that appear to pull your lower jaw forward, but they look uncomfortable and fairly expensive as well. I don't mind the expense if I know it will fit and not stress my jaw. I rather doubt that one size fits all.

At a certain age, I began to wake up in the morning with a very dry mouth. This is caused by mouth breathing during sleep, one of the gifts that middle age has brought to me. I bought this item, not because of sleep apnea, but because I wanted to keep my mouth shut at night. (I want to keep it shut more during the day too, but Amazon doesn't have anything for that yet.)
It is a little uncomfortable, but I got used to it easily enough. It is not completely successful in keeping my mouth closed, for I still have a little dry mouth, but it definitely helps. I have had it for about two months now, and it has not stretched out or lost effectiveness yet. It has worked modestly well for my purposes.
This one WORKS !!!! July 17, 2008 2 out of 2 found this comment useful.
Fine product which gets the job done. This Chin strap is very comfortable to wear and adjusts easily. The only fault I have found is that it tends to a little warm when wearing and may cause you to sweat under it. I would recommend it over all the others out there and I have tried almost all of them.I liked this one so well that I have ordered another.
Not For Longterm Use May 12, 2008 6 out of 7 found this comment useful.
Right out of the box, the chin strap had a snug fit and was comfortable. However after about two weeks of use, it began to lose some of the elasticity requiring tighter adjustments. After several weeks of use, the more it became less comfortable and effective. The design in the way it fits on the head is good, but the materials used to make the product should have been more durable. It will soon have to be replaced.
Best chin strap November 28, 2007 9 out of 9 found this comment useful.
I have tried every chin strap on the market. This was by far the best of all. The strap is fully adjustable and should fit anyone. The chin strap stays in place through out the night and is very comfortable.
