The bigger a mask, the more it is going to "bump" against the pillow making it more likely that it will become dislodged and leak. Leaks wake you up and require you to readjust the mask.
The compact design of this mask makes it comfortable and it does not "bump" against the pillow as much. The silicone cushion is pretty comfortable but does not provide as much "cushioning" as a comfort gel. The forehead design is the best I have seen -- it has an easy "turn" adjustment and is the most comfortable forehead band out there.
The price here on Amazon is very good. If you can afford it, buy 2 so that you always have a spare. When the first wears out, then switch to the second one and order your next mask. The applies to any mask that you go with since there is nothing worse than having the mask break just as you are going to bed and then you are stuck trying to sleep without your cpap machine.
