 I GOT THE LEMON November 10, 2008
I might be the only one unhappy with this product but after I lifted the mattress off of the box springs and started to attach it to the frame the buckel broke. The quality seemed to be poor the plastic was cheap and the straps were thin. I must say the transaction went very well. The item arrived very quickly and the return was a breeze. F.Y.I. I did find one for my large husband at Elderdepot.com and he is very happy with it and he does feel secure with this type of device. I do recommend anyone needing this type of device to purchase one.

This was bought for my 80+ years old Grandmother, after knee surgery! This was an excellent addition to her bed. It has a sturdy design, with a place for her remotes and glasses, without taking over her bed.
Review of the BedCane September 8, 2008
My mom is 86 and has fallen 3 times in the past 2 years - each time requiring about 3 months of a stay at a Rehab center in a nursing home. She has a 20 year old Craftmatic bed, and I was trying to find something that would serve as a bedrail for her to help her get up during the night. I searched around and finally found the Standers BedCane. Her bed folds in order to rise, so it was difficult finding something that did not interfere with the old mechanism of the bed. The BedCane is small, so it does not get in her way and was very easy to attach securely. I feel so much more at ease knowing she has this for her to hold onto as she rises out of the bed. It is great!

It does not state in the written details that you MUST have a box spring for this hand rail. It will not work with the sponge type mattresses that fit right onto the bed frame. If this information had been included in the reading material online I would not have purchased it. Other than that I was impressed with the quality and strength and would buy one for a regular bed!
