Customer Comments:
Choose another thermometer November 29, 2008 We bought this thermometer from Walmart for our 6 month old and have had nothing but problems. The "low battery" sign has been on regardless of changing out to a new battery, not once but twice. Then it continues to show the temperature of not only our son, but also of ourselves to be around 94 degrees or too "Lo" to scan. We are finally breaking down and attempting to return to Walmart and will buy a different thermometer, hopefully with better results.
Quick as lightning and accurate October 8, 2008 What else could you want? You don't have to stick anything in your mouth (or in a worse place). It is clean, with results in less than a second. It is also accurate and almost impossible to fake. One can even use it to take temperatures of inanimate objects (within a limited range of temperatures). It is also light and quite intuitive. It is easier to use than just about any other digital thermometer I have ever found.
I can't think of anything else I would want in a thermometer. This one is a keeper.
Good but could be better September 29, 2008 I just bought this thermometer and it seems pretty accurate and fast (one second). It also tells you room temp in the standby mode which is pretty good.
What I did not like:
It does not use standard AAA battery instead it uses some other round kind of battery. Second thing that can be improved is the carring/storage case which does not look like a case for a thermometer. Third it comes with a set up where it turns it self off after one minute if not in use. But once you set time in the thermometer then it stays on always. There is no way to switch back to one minute shut-off setting.
Overall I am still very happy with this thermometer.
Cool gadget, if nothing else March 13, 2008 2 out of 2 found this comment useful.
I bought this primarily as an ear thermometer for my kids, but it also allegedly is able to sense the temperature of other things just by being pointed at them. This appeals to my inner geek.
It is really well priced and seems to work well though I have yet to use it to actually check for a fever. My only complaint is that the blue 'scan' button at the top of the unit is not a sealed control. It would be nice if it were seamless so that it doesn't give the impression of potentially trapping dirt or admitting moisture. But all-in-all, I'm very pleased with the purchase.
